Privacy policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how Tearney's® Martial Arts, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information through our website, tearneyskarate.com (the “Site”). It applies to visitors in the United States. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.
Information we collect
When you contact us or submit a form on the Site, we collect the information you provide: first and last name, email address, phone number, the program you’re interested in, and whether you’ve agreed to receive text and email updates. Because we offer karate instruction for children, some of this information may relate to a minor (for example, when a parent inquires on a child’s behalf). See “Children’s privacy” below.
If you purchase a trial, payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe, on its own secure checkout page. We receive confirmation of your purchase, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
If we make a waiver or registration form available, you may also provide health or injury information relevant to safe participation. We use this only to help keep participants safe.
When you visit the Site, we also automatically collect basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) through cookies and similar technologies. When you submit a form, we also record how you reached the Site — for example, the page that referred you or the advertising campaign tags in the link you followed.
How we use information
We use this information to respond to your inquiry; provide and improve our programs and services; communicate with you about classes, scheduling, and support; send marketing messages where you have opted in; keep our students, facilities, and Site secure; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate (such as payment processing, scheduling/CRM, messaging, and hosting), and when required to comply with the law or protect the safety of our students, staff, or others.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and understand how it is used, including analytics services such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Children’s privacy
We offer programs for children and collect information about minors as part of enrollment and instruction. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without a parent or guardian’s consent. We collect only what is reasonably necessary for participation and do not use children’s information for targeted advertising.
We may photograph or record students during classes and events for instructional or promotional purposes, and we obtain parental or guardian consent before using a minor’s image publicly. A parent or guardian may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s information by contacting us at dojo@tearneyskarate.com.
Your choices
Email. We send marketing email only to people who have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, which we honor. We may still send messages about your account, enrollment, or billing.
Text messages. If you opt in to texts, you may receive messages such as class reminders and promotions. Consent is not a condition of enrollment or purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP. We only send marketing texts between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. your local time.
Your rights. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or opt out of marketing, by contacting us at dojo@tearneyskarate.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption (HTTPS) when transmitting sensitive data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Policy.
