Tearney's Martial Arts® · Classes Ages 4–12 · Camillus, NY

Kids Karate.

Confidence, focus, and respect — taught through the same Okinawan kata that built Greg Tearney's reputation fifty-six years ago.

Ages 4–12

The program

An age-specific program built around how children actually grow. Through fun exercises, drills, and belt tests, students develop self-confidence, focus, and coordination — and parents see it carry over into school and home.

Classes are split by ability level, so every child is challenged at the right pace and becomes a confident, capable leader.

Kids are grouped by age and belt. Because placement depends on age and experience, we'll help set your schedule when you start.

  • Ages 4 and up
  • Classes split by ability level
  • Repetition disguised with fun
  • Builds focus, confidence & discipline

  • Mats cleaned after each class

Before you start

We generally require a minimum age of 4. If your child is 3½ and wanting to train, please call us to discuss first. We can help guide you!

Yes! Our Basics/Karate Kids are ages 4–6. Our Beginner kids are ages 7 and older.

All of our new students start with a trial membership. This allows us to get to know each other and be sure it's a good fit!

Twice a week is best for good progress.

Sparring is gradually introduced after students earn their gold/white belt. We start slowly by using partner drills to emphasize safety and etiquette. Instructors stay very close to facilitate this.

We do try our best to accommodate families. We can discuss your situation when we meet!
