Karate for Auburn & Cayuga County families.
Tearney's is a traditional Okinawan karate dojo about half an hour across the county line. Families from Auburn, Weedsport and Port Byron drive east on Route 5 to train with the Tearney family.
Getting here
One road,
most of the way.
Almost every route from northern Cayuga County ends on the same road: Route 5. From Auburn, take Route 5 east through Elbridge and Camillus. Township 5 is just past Camillus village, about 30 minutes from home.
From Weedsport, Route 5 east gets you here in about 30 minutes. From Port Byron, take Route 31 to Weedsport and pick up Route 5; plan on about 35.
That's a real drive, so we'll help you build a schedule around it. Two classes a week is what we recommend, and with classes Monday through Friday you can pick the days that fit.
- Weedsport~29 min
- Auburn~31 min
- Port Byron~35 min
Typical drive to 150 Township Blvd without traffic.
Traditional karate,
worth the trip.
Families from Auburn, Weedsport and Port Byron already train on our floor.
What brings them east is what we've always taught: traditional Okinawan karate, slower than most and heavier on the basics, from a family that has run the same dojo for two generations.
Classes for each level run at different times through the afternoon and evening, from 4:00 PM, so there's room to plan around the drive. Parents and grandparents can watch every class from the open viewing area.
New students start with our 3‑lesson trial: three lessons and a uniform for $34.99. We'll schedule your first lesson within 1–2 business days.
Classes for the
